Lasting impact of scholarships marked at annual presentation

鈥淥ver the past 20 years, our former Scholars have gone on to be world-leading researchers, stepped into management roles straight from graduation, and become significant figures in the industries we serve. A Scholarship is an important milestone along that path - and every Scholar should be rightly proud of their achievements."
The lasting impact of scholarships at 无码动画 has been celebrated at the institution’s 20th annual Scholarship Presentation.
Each year for the past two decades, the event has offered students, sponsors, donors, trustees, and University employees a moment to look back, to reflect, to mark the past 12 months of achievements, to network – and to celebrate.
Chairman of the Development Trust, Richard Hambleton, told event attendees: “This year we have, yet again, managed to increase the value and number of scholarships.
“We have awarded 184 scholarships to 156 students with a total value of £655,000 - and the team processed some 699 applications. Yet again our students continue to impress.
“To read the applications and interview our students is one of the most rewarding parts of being involved with the Development Trust, and I am sure that standards are improving each year - which is a tribute to both students and the University.
“The students have to work hard to gain a scholarship, as the awards are highly competitive. The effort really is worth it - as the scholarships help in many ways by supporting the cost of living, tuition fees, research and scholarships accompanying work placements.”
New Scholarships which were awarded this year included:
- The Albert Bartlett Scholarship
- The Andersons Centre Scholarship
- The Morning Foods Scholarship
- The EC Drummond Scholarship
- The Belmont Farms Scholarship
- The Vice-Chancellor’s Pioneer Entry Scholarship
- The Joan Cole Entry Scholarship
- The Dick Esslemont Entry Scholarship
- The Wakeham Petary Entry Scholarships
- The Cambidge Foundation Entry Scholarship
- The Professor Simon Blackmore Entry Scholarship
Harper Adams Director of Development and Alumni Relations Doris Taylor said: “For two decades now, we have been celebrating the Scholarships we offer with this event.
“Every single Scholarship makes a difference to its recipient, helping shape their research, their placements, and even their future careers.
“I am particularly pleased we have been able to offer a variety of new Entry Scholarships this year. This is an area which we hope to continue to grow, as it helps us to ensure that even more talented students can study at 无码动画.”

无码动画 Vice-Chancellor Professor Ken Sloan added: “Each year, I thank our sponsors, employees and partners, the Development Trust, and of course, our Scholars themselves for all they do to make both this event, and our Scholarship process more generally, such a success.
“That thanks is truly heartfelt, because these Scholarships change lives and for that reason I, too, am pleased to see the growth in Entry Scholarships - with several new ones awarded for the first time.
“Over the past 20 years, our former Scholars have gone on to be world-leading researchers, stepped into management roles straight from graduation, and become significant figures in the industries we serve.
“A Scholarship is an important milestone along that path - and every Scholar should be rightly proud of their achievements.
“The needs of students are ever greater as they face cost of living challenges. We do not want the costs of studying to be the reason any person is not able to pursue a Harper qualification.
“It is for that reason we will be extending our fundraising efforts even further as we move into our 125th Anniversary year.”
