MScInternational Agri Business with Leadership (online)

    Course description

This fully online Masters will equip current and future managers with the expertise and critical skills necessary to enhance their career prospects in International Agri Business with Leadership.

International Agri Business has evolved into a highly integrated system that combines efficient farm-level production with a well-structured supply chain, delivering food products to global markets. This course offers students an advanced understanding of global challenges and opportunities, as well as the principles and practices of modern International Agri Business management. The programme focuses on developing professionals for industries in the rural economy or those supporting it, including agricultural supply industries, agricultural trade, cooperatives, consultancy, industry associations, government agencies, and other allied organisations.

Working within the International Agri Business environment involves a broad range of functions such as finance, human resources, logistics, operational management, geopolitics, cross-cultural export/import, and purchasing, and responding to emerging scientific and technological advances. The course builds students' knowledge of agricultural systems, finance, and human resource management, while providing deep insights into geopolitics, global agri-food markets, and industries supporting agricultural production, processing, transportation, and strategic management. Students apply key concepts to formulate effective international business strategies, using case studies to explore sectors of personal interest.

Career opportunities are wide-ranging, including roles in strategic management, leadership, policy, and consultancy within public, private, and non-governmental organisations at national and international levels.

Students enrolling in this programme will have either:

    • A technical background in an Agri Business discipline and aspire to take on a management role, seeking to develop business management skills and gain a global leadership perspective, or

    • A non-Agri Business background and intend to pursue a career in the Agri Business sector, government, or non-government organisations supporting or advising the rural economy, requiring an in-depth understanding of the global agribusiness landscape and the advancement of their leadership and strategic management skills.

The MSc programme aligns with strategic goals aimed at delivering education excellence through an industry-driven, research-led curriculum, while advancing research excellence in sustainable agri-tech and global agri-food market innovation.
